In March 2024, two passionate healthcare procurement individuals came together to address the challenges faced by procurement in the Philippine healthcare industry, particularly among small and medium-sized hospitals. Driven by a shared commitment to cost savings, compliance and efficiency, they envisioned the establishment of a non-stock, non-profit organization that would serve as a strategic bridge between medical suppliers and healthcare institutions. Their goal was to enable hospitals to procure essential medical supplies and equipment more affordably and efficiently through bulk purchasing and also the adoption of best practices and enhancing strategic partnerships. Through a series of virtual discussions with colleagues in the healthcare sector, their vision gained traction.

By January 2025, a dedicated team of five industry leaders formally established HOPE ASIA INC., an organization committed to:

Establishing and disseminating industry-leading procurement standards and guidelines to ensure cost-effective, efficient, and ethical sourcing practices in healthcare.

Facilitating networking and knowledge-sharing among members to strengthen collective expertise, improve vendor relationships, and address common challenges in healthcare procurement.

Identifying and integrating emerging technologies, data analytics, and innovative solutions to optimize supply chain management and procurement processes.

Offering training, certifications, and educational resources to enhance the skills and competencies of procurement professionals in the healthcare sector.

Providing resources and guidance to help members navigate complex regulatory landscapes and maintain compliance with national and international procurement standards.

Advocating for environmentally sustainable procurement practices that minimize waste, reduce carbon footprints, and support a greener healthcare system.
